This Grand Cru Classé Saint-Émilion is located southeast of the village on the clay-limestone plateau which carries the biggest names in the appellation. The vineyards cover 3,65 hectares and are biased Merlot, lord of the Right Bank, with 10% Cabernet Franc.

The history of Pavia Decesse is closely linked to that of Pavia, whose origine dates back to the fourth century.

This is Ferdinand Bouffard who decides to break up a few plots of Pavia, that he calls Pavia Decesse. Sold to Mr Marzelle, Pavia Decesse obtained the title of Grand Cru Classé in 1954.

It then passes into the hands of Jean-Paul Valette, and then, Gérard Perse in 1997, which aims to produce high quality for all vineyards he owns.

After manual harvesting, the vinification with temperature-controlled takes place in 3 wooden vats of small capacity before raising from 18 to 24 months in new French oak barrels.
