Products of the domain : Château Chantelys

After having been the property of Jean Courrian since the year 40, the Château de Chantelys was taken over by his daughter Christine in 1983.

The Château has a 16 ha vineyard in the commune of Prignac-en-Médoc. The vines are planted on a clay-limestone soil resting on a limestone base. They are between 30 and 35 years old and planted at high density.

The grape variety is 60% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot and 10% petit verdot.

The vineyard is managed in the tradition of the Médoc.

The harvest is manual, the vatting is long, the work is fragmentary, and the wines benefit from 15 months of aging in French oak barrels.

The domaine produces mainly Cru Bourgeois.
