Château La Tour Carnet is built in the twelfth century. It owes its name to the book squire who inherits Lord Jean de Foix in recognition of his bravery.


In 1855 he Ranked 4th Cru, then hit by vine diseases, wars and economic crises, it has a long period of decline. In 1972 Louis Lipschitz, acquired the estate, restored buildings and replanted the vineyards.


In 1999, Bernard Magrez, owner of Pope Clement acquired it. Major renovations and improvements are undertaken at the castle in the vineyards, the winery and the cellar.


The 73 ha vineyard is planted on soils composed of clay, limestone and Garonne gravel and limestone on Pyrenean basement. For red wine, the grape varieties are compound on Cabernet Sauvignon (45%), Merlot (50%), Cabernet Franc (3%) and Petit Verdot (2%). The white grape varieties is divided between Sauvignon (33%), gray Sauvignon (29%), Semillon (33%) and Muscadelle (5%).
