An exceptional place!

The domain runs a vineyard near 100 hectares in the Brouilly cru and produced three cuvées.

Property of the Marquise de Roussy de Sales, the Château de la Chaize, and its cellars and gardens are classified as Historic Monuments since 1972. In the Beaujolais at Odenas, the Chateau de la Chaize is surrounded by a vineyard of 99 hectares in one piece, which represents 8% of the total surface of raw Brouilly.

Operated by the family Roussy de Sales and some tenants, the vineyards are farming and the harvest is done by hand. The goal is to pummel the grapes as little as possible before a semi-carbonic maceration. The wines are aged in barrels from 40 to 100 hl in a vast cellar of the eighteenth century.

The domain produces three wines of Brouilly : Chateau de la Chaize, Reserve de la Marquise and Vieilles Vignes.
