The track of Lords Cantermerle back to the Middle Ages from 1147. Then Jehan de Villeneuve bought it in 1579. It will then be resold to Dubos by his descendants in 1892, after having been nominated 5th Grand Cru Classé in 1855.

The vineyard crossed the period 1930-1945 with difficulty and only 25 hectares of vines survive the war. The Mutual Insurance Building and Public Works, bought it in 1981 and invested massively.

Cantemerle is located in Haut-Médoc appellation, on the "Günziennes" gravel in the villages Ludon and Macau. The vineyard, which has regained its area of 90 hectares as the nineteenth century, has been the subject of numerous replanting, now reaching a very high level of quality.
