The Guigal domain was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis the heart of the Côte-Rôtie appellation. It now has 230 ha.

Three generations will be succeeded as head of the field, and the Guigal family acquired Château d'Ampuis in 1995.

The Castle became the headquarters of the Maison Guigal but the offices and cellars remained in the village of Ampuis.

The field has expanded in 2001 through the acquisition of domains Jean-Louis Grippat and VALLOUIT.

The Guigal domain vinifies the wine of northern and southern Rhône appellation in its cellars.

Viticulture in the field has always been done in full respect of the environment. The area also has a principled fight against the disease, and excellence in the wine selection and winemaking.
