Founded at the end of World War II, in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis in an exceptional vineyard where the vineyard has been exploited for 2400 years around the ancient village, the heart of the Côte-Rôtie appellation. Marcel Guigal took over from 1961 And in 1973 his wife Bernadette joined him to develop the family domain. Philippe, born in 1975, oenologist of the domain represents the third generation.The Château d'Ampuis was acquired in 1995, this historic site remains the emblem of the Appellation Côte-Rôtie. Domaine GUIGAL vinifies and raises the Northern Appellations Of the Rhone Valley, but also the southern appellations Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel and Côtes-du-Rhône. The domain Guigal owns exceptional plots giving "La Doriane" in Condrieu and some famous Côte-Rôtie as La Mouline, la turque, la Landronne. The Domaine Guigal is definitely one of the very first estates of the Rhône valley, vinifying with consistency and extreme quality all these wines.
