It was is in order to realize the dream of his uncle, the Benedictine monk Dom Thierry Ruinart, that Nicolas Ruinart created the House Ruinart in 1729, which is one of the oldest houses in Champagne. He wanted to make it the first House of Champagne.

Since its creation, the philosophy of the House has remained the same: cultivate excellence.

Ruinart range has a strong focus on Chardonnay: this grape is a component of all vintages.

The house is also proud of having one of the most beautiful caves in the world, eight kilometers long, listed as historical monument.
